National Indigenous Peoples Day

Celebrating Solidarity Day with Caldwell First Nation

As National Indigenous History Month comes to a close, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Caldwell First Nation community for continuing to share their rich history, traditions, and culture with the Windsor-Essex region.

On June 21st, we came together to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day / Solidarity Day on the Summer Solstice. The longest day of the year included a vibrant afternoon filled with music, connection, and cultural pride. From traditional drumming, dancing, and costumes, to heartfelt conversations, it was a day of unity and respect.

According to Facebook comments, Indigenous music at the pumps had everyone smiling. A small but powerful way to honour and celebrate our culture in everyday spaces. Many attendees shared how much they enjoyed the music and the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Caldwell First Nation for making this celebration so meaningful. Let’s keep learning, celebrating, and walking together in solidarity—today and every day.
